Code of Conduct

Our goal at TGFM is to create a supportive, safe, and nurturing environment where children can learn and grow through recreational gymnastics. To ensure the success of our program and maintain a positive atmosphere for both children and parents, we ask all coaches, parents, and participants to adhere to the following principles and guidelines.

1. Club Values and Ethics

  • Supportive Learning Environment: Our classes are designed to encourage each child to learn at their own pace while receiving guidance and support from our coaches.

  • Progress Tracking: Children will receive a progress booklet to help track their achievements and growth in the sport. Parents are encouraged to support this process at home through the use of our online resources.

  • Recognition and Awards: Children will be recognised for their effort and progress through certificates and awards, creating a sense of achievement and motivation.

  • Commitment to Inclusion: We foster a diverse and inclusive environment where all children, regardless of ability, background, or gender, feel welcome and valued.

2. Coach Responsibilities

To create a positive experience for both children and parents, coaches are expected to follow these guidelines:

  • Class Size and Assistance:

    • Classes will consist of up to 14 children.

    • For classes with more than 8 children, a second coach will be present to ensure every child receives adequate attention and support.

  • Professional Conduct:

    • Coaches must maintain professionalism in their behaviour, communication, and interaction with both children and parents.

    • Coaches should use positive reinforcement to motivate children and never engage in any form of discrimination or inappropriate behaviour.

  • Punctuality:

    • Coaches are expected to arrive 10 minutes before the start of each class to prepare the equipment and themselves for the class.

  • Self-Employed Status:

    • As self-employed professionals, coaches are responsible for managing their own schedules, but punctuality and commitment to the class schedule are essential.

  • Dress Code:

    • Coaches should wear the club top and appropriate and comfortable sportswear that allows them to demonstrate movements and ensure a safe training environment.

    • Coaches shouldn’t wear shorts that are too short.

  • Communication:

    • Coaches should keep open and positive communication with both parents and children, addressing any concerns promptly.

    • Regular feedback should be provided to both children and parents regarding progress.

  • Reporting and Conduct:

    • Coaches should report any misconduct or issues that arise during classes to the management.

    • Coaches are expected to treat all children with respect and to use constructive feedback when guiding their progress.

3. Operational Guidelines for Coaches

  • Class Setup:

    • Coaches should ensure all equipment is safely set up and packed down before and after each session.

  • Health and Safety:

    • Coaches are responsible for maintaining a safe environment during classes and ensuring all children follow safety guidelines.

  • Absence Notification:

    • In the event of illness or any inability to attend a class, coaches must notify the club management as early as possible.

4. Customer (Child) and Buyer (Parent) Satisfaction

  • Maintaining High Standards:

    • Coaches are expected to keep classes engaging and educational, ensuring children feel supported and motivated to improve.
